| 摘 要： | 蔡元培先生是我国近代著名教育家，被毛泽东誉为“学界泰斗，人世楷模”。然而蔡先生的一生，无论在实践中还是思想上都与近代图书馆事业紧密相关。文章试从蔡元培先生的图书馆实践和思想等方面进行探讨，以此铭记他为中国近代图书馆事业做出的不可磨灭的贡献，也探寻先生关于图书馆建设之思想，用以借鉴和指导当今时代图书馆事业。参考文献22。
