| 摘 要： | “五四”语言转型以往被认为是从文言到白话的转型，但是在小说领域中，它其实也是从古代白话到现代白话的转型；因为“五四”之前，白话小说已经成为主流。现代白话是经过欧化以后产生的，它的身上有许多异质成分，在构成方式和言说方式上与旧白话都有重大不同。现代白话是现代小说的前提与基础，没有现代白话，现代小说的发生、发展都是不可想像的。

| Abstract: | The language transition during the period of the May 4th Movement was used to be regarded as a transition from classical Chinese to the vernacular .But when it comes to the novel , the transition is , infact , also one from the ancient vernacular to the modern , because before the May 4th Movement , novels written in the vernacular had been the mainstream . The modern vernacular , which emerged after being Europeanized and had lots of foreign component parts , differs very much with the ancient vernacular in composing and saying forms . The modern vernacular is the premise and basis of the modern novels .Without it , the emergence and development of the modern novels seem to be unimaginable . |
