摘    要:最近几年,“听说领先、读写跟上”原则似乎成了我国英语教学的指导性原则。笔认为这一教学原则既不客观,也不科学。如果再不予以纠正,会对我国的英语教学产生误导性影响。本从ESL和EFL的区别驳斥了“听说领先、读写跟上”原则在中国,并从我国实情出发,根据外语教学的客观规律和英语专家们的经验之谈进一步论证了我国的英语教学应始终以读写为本。

Abstract:In recent years the approach of "Listening and Speaking Precede Reading and Writing" seems to have become a main approach to English learning and teaching in China.However, in the author's view, it is neither objective nor scientific.If the approach was not rectified any longer, it might have a negative impact on English learning and teaching in China.This paper, analyzing the difference between ESL and EFL, refutes the approach of "Listening and Speaking Precede Reading and Writing".It also argues that in China English should be taught as a foreign language and therefore top priority should be given to reading and writing, especially reading.
