Abstract: | Abstract In order to remain financially and pedagogically valuable to their institutions, many special collections departments are finding it necessary to reevaluate their approach to public service and access. This article examines innovative approaches to meeting the changing needs of four constituencies: undergraduates, scholars and researchers, K-12, and the community at large. It describes outreach and educational programs (such as course-integrated instruction, intra-library collaboration, and community reading groups) that have been successfully implemented at a large state university. |
