| 摘 要： | 作为近代中国史上的风云人物,张之洞认识到教育的重要性,并在其主政山西、广东期间扶持、发展教育,在这些地方的教育尝试,为张之洞在湖北进行教育改革提供了经验。张之洞曾长期主政湖北,并在湖北推行了系列教育改革。张之洞在湖北的教育改革初以培养实学人才、满足近代工业需要、脱去传统八股影响为主,后则从教育制度、师资队伍、教材等各个方面,对湖北教育进行全面改革,并从经费上为湖北教育提供保障,使湖北成为当时中国教育最为领先的省份,对湖北影响深远。
