| 摘 要： | "独裁与民主"之争为20世纪30年代发生于思想领域的一次主要论争。有关蒋廷黻提出"新式独裁"论之缘由为时人乃至后人试图解读之迷思。历史地看,蒋廷黻新式独裁论的出台并非是曲意逢迎当道,亦非对中国民主试验所产生的幻灭感或缺乏真诚的自由主义民主政治信仰使然,而实在于其对国家统一与现代化的诉求、深厚独特的美国知识背景以及由此决定的思维模式诸因素所致。

| Abstract: | The ague ment between autarchy and democracy happened in academic area in 1930's. It became a myth to both cotemporary and later years about Chiang Tingfu's idea of autarchy of new type. This idea was neither a flatter to the authorities, nor a disillusion after the experiment of democracy in China, but the attributions of pursues of unification and modernization of the country, unique background of American education and the thinking mode were caused. |
