| 摘 要： | 随着国外语言学家和教育家对泛读在语言学习中的作用的日益重视，许多国内学者也开始对泛读在中国英语教育中的现状进行审视，提出了“泛读课应怎样上”等实际问题。某些高校也成立了泛读精品课程的教研项目，旨在改良泛读课程的能容，提高对泛读的重视程度。顺应这样一个潮流，笔者想借鉴西方语言学家在这一领域的研究和实践成果，谈谈我国泛读教育的现状，并思索中国未来泛读教育的发展方向。

| Abstract: | Extensive Reading course has long been one of the major courses in teaching English as a second language at university level in China. However, the role which extensive reading plays and the definition which extensive reading bears are not well recognized among the massive people who work in English teaching field in China. Thus extensive reading course in China has not reached its potential in teaching English as a second language. In this paper, some advanced researches on extensive reading will be viewed to illuminate the benefits which a successful extensive reading program will bring to language learners in terms of not only reading ability but also the general language competence. At the end, some thoughts on the future trend of extensive reading program in China are brought up to discussion. |
