| Abstract: | Middlemarch, the representative work of George Eliot, abounds in the images of "net", which is an intentional design to show her insights into art and community. Based on the image of net and views related to community, the author will explore Eliot''s understanding of the relationship between individuals and community from three aspects: fashion, everyday life and narrative art. |
