| Abstract: | Toni Morrison adopts abundant symbolic strategies in Beloved, including the naming of characters in the novel. This thesis attempts to analyze the symbolic meanings of the most representative names, aiming to make the reader understand how Morrison emphasizes the themes and creates a special atmosphere and shows the historical truth by utilizing the symbolic device to name the characters. |
