| 摘 要： | 1900年《嘉莉妹妹》出版,出版之后,西奥多德莱赛受到了广泛关注,而其作品也受到了很大争议。该部小说深刻揭示了美国城市社会的黑暗,不少小说评论家认为该小说在一定程度上打破了常理。小说中重点描述的悲情人物赫斯特伍德,则给人们带来心灵上的震颤,不少人开始对城市生活有着绝望的反思。在本文中,笔者从各种文化的视角入手分析,重点探讨并阐释赫斯特伍德所在的客观世界,以及该客观世界带给人们自身的个性特色和悲剧因素。

| Abstract: | In 1990,the Sister Carrie was published.After publishing,Theodore Dreiser got a lot of attention,and its work became controversy.This novel revealed the darkness of society in America.Many essayists thought that the novel broke the rules,to a certain extent.The main character,Hester Wood,can make the readers＇ soul trembling.Many people began to rethink the city life desperately.By analyzing all kinds of cultures,this paper discusses Hester Wood＇s world which bring people individual characters and tragedy factors. |
