| 摘 要： | 阅读是符合艾宾浩斯记忆遗忘规律的有效的词汇学习方法.阅读可分为反复精细阅读及快速而大量的广泛阅读两类.不同阅读类型对词汇记忆有不同的影响.反复精细阅读有利于短时间把“新词汇”转化为“积极词汇.快速而大量的广泛阅读有利于把大量“新词汇”转化为“消极词汇”,并逐渐把它们转化为“积极词汇”.为了获得良好的词汇学习效果,学习者应当选择有趣的阅读材料并控制阅读的难度.为了获得良好的词汇记忆效果,学习者应当多管齐下,把阅读与听力、写作及口语表达有机结合起来.

| Abstract: | This paper presents the view that reading,being in consistence with the memory retention law revealed by Hermann Ebbinghaus′s Forgetting Curve,is an effective way of acquiring English vocabulary.Reading falls into two major categories: repetitive intensive reading and wide-range speed reading,which produce different effects in vocabulary learning.Repetitive intensive reading enables vocabulary learners to acquire limited "active words" within a relatively short period of time while wide-range speed reading makes it possible for vocabulary learners to acquire a large amount of "passive words" and over time change them into "active words".To achieve an ideal vocabulary learning effect,it is advisable to select reading materials that are interesting and not much beyond the learners′ level.This paper also presents an experiment done based on the "reading method" to prove its effectiveness.Last,it suggests that learners should also incorporate listening,writing and speaking practice into the reading process so that the best possible result can be achieved. |
