| Abstract: | With only illustrative examples under its entries and without any annotations in the dictionary,An English-Chinese Translation Dictionary with Illustrative Examples throws light on the fact"No context,no meaning".With numerous illustrative examples from 1000 masterpieces and their excellent versions,the dictionary reveals the truth of translatology that "no'fixed meaning' for a word" and "no 'fixed method' for translation".Thus it deserves to be called a translation dictionary with a style of its own and admired by the more and the less cultured. |
