| Abstract: | Vowels often pose difficulties to students in English pronunciation teaching.The similarities and differences between Bouyei and English vowels lie in many aspects such as the height of the raised part of the tongue,the part of the tongue raised,and the position of the lips.A general knowledge of the similarities and differences between Bouyei and English vowel systems may help reduce Bouyei students’ difficulties.This article aims to compare the two vowel systems in three parts: monophthong,diphthong and triphthong. |
