| 摘 要： | 中国古典文学名著《红楼梦》被广泛视为中国古典文学作品宝库中最光彩夺目的一颗明珠,小说内容涵盖了封建社会的政治、经济、文化、教育、宗教、习俗等,有多种语言译本。其英译本中有两个公认比较成功的版本:一个版本为中国翻译家杨宪益及其夫人戴乃迭所译;另一个版本为英国译者霍克斯及其女婿约翰·明福德所译。文章尝试对比这两个译本中关于人物配饰的翻译,从中选取一些包含文化因素的实例进行对比分析,说明归化翻译和异化翻译在文化信息传递方面所起的不同作用;进而说明不同的翻译方法和策略可以达到译者不同的翻译目的,而达到了翻译目的的译本就是优秀的译本。
