| Abstract: | Languages and words are not only communication tools, but organic parts of cultures as well as significant political means and economic resources. Among all the languages and words in the world, Chinese language and characters are of their unique features and status. Therefore, the language planning authorities of China should take responsibilities to defend the status of standard spoken and written Chinese language. |
