| Abstract: | Based on the study of recurrence of the "death" image in Thomas Hardy's novels, this paper attempts to probe into his environmental as well as humane concern, since "death" image exhibits Hardy's insight into his inner thoughts and illustrates his philosophical and cultural ideas on the ground of radical social changes. |
