| 摘 要： | 作者德莱塞笔下所塑造的嘉莉妹妹这一小资产阶级代表,从一个纯真,快乐的农村姑娘变成一个名声赫赫的演员.但在名利双收后,她却遭受了从未有过的空虚.这种空虚和堕落正是由其本身所固有的阶级性造成的.她所经历的追求,堕落,幻灭三部曲几乎是那个社会所有小资产阶级女性走过的共同道路.作者通过这一形象意义在于唤起小资产阶级去追求个性解放的道路.同时,通过对嘉莉妹妹堕落过程的描写,作者揭露了美国社会的腐败,抨击了资本主义社会.

| Abstract: | Theodore Dreiser dramatizes the image of Sister Carrie--the representative of American bourgeoisie who is a famous actress before being a childlike and happy village girl. Sister Carrie falls into emptiness after her accomplishment. The author explores the way of personality liberation through the dramatization of the image of Sister Carrie. At the same time,the author exposes the corruption and attacks the capitalism. |
