| Abstract: | English slang is informal spoken language,and it＇s so popular that it has become a language of fashion. It is very humorous and vivid. It reflects real life with original perspectives. The study on English slang will help us understand western culture,and grasp the trend of language development. This essay introduces the origin and meanings of English slangs,analyses five linguistic features of English slangs,and illustrates characteristics of common rhetoric methods,like metaphor,euphemism,hyperbole and sarcasm through numerous concrete examples. |
