| Abstract: | The reference desk is a busy place at the best of times. To keep things running smoothly, effective means of staff communication are essential. One of the simplest ways for staff members to keep each other informed about departmental affairs is through the use off a reference desk log. Entries from the logs of two contrasting academic libraries reveal that while each library has its own unique character, they also have much in common. |
