| 摘 要： | 清末鸦片战争之后，西方的大炮轰开了中国的大门，也送来了西方近代的科技文明。教会大学是在东西方文化相互碰撞与融合的过程中产生的，是由西方传教士带着文化侵略的目的在中国创办的高等教育机构。教会大学的数目不多，存在的历史很短暂，从19世纪末最初形成，到20世纪50年代全国高等学校院系调整时结束，不到百年时间。但是教会大学却是教会教育中最重要，最有代表性的部分，它在中国社会近代化，中国教育的近代化．在中西文化、中西教育交流史上地位和作用是很突出的。
