| Abstract: | Idiom is a bright of the national culture in any country, which has along history. For the collocation of grammar and the plentiful and profound semantic meaning, many great writers in the literary history also have great interests in idioms. Using idioms properly can increase the literary grace, appeal of language and the charm of the essay. English idioms are pregnant with meaning and cover a wide range. This essay focuses on two aspects of English idioms the sources of English idioms and the corresponding relationship between English idioms and Chinese idioms. |
