| Abstract: | This chapter discusses a few select issues relating to the privatization of education in the South Asian countries. Particularly concentrating on India, a few comparisons are made on private and public schools, and in the process a few common postulates are examined relating to equity, quality and financing of education. The complementary nature of public and private sectors, and the correlates of private sector are also briefly probed into. |
