| 摘 要： | 英语定语从句应用广泛。英汉两种语言在词汇和句法上的巨大差异,以及定语从句句法功能的多样性,导致对定语从句翻译有一定难度。本文通过分析、评述张谷若的《德伯家的苔丝》汉译本中定语从句的翻译实例,提出了一些行之有效的定语从句汉译技巧。

| Abstract: | Attributive clauses are widely used in English. Significant differences between English and Chinese and the diversity of the syntactic functions of English attributive clauses result in considerable difficulties in their Chinese translation. This paper analyses the methods and techniques of the translation of attributive clauses in the Chinese version of Tess of the D'urbervilles, and makes suggestions as to the effective translation of English attributive clauses. |
