| Abstract: | Wililiam Makepeace Thackeray portrayed two female images in his representative work Vanity Fair: Amelia Sedley and Becky Sharp. Through analyzing the minor status and role of women in the patriarchy society, the feminism represented by Becky who actively tried to change her life and the mild and the kind-hearted traditional female image represented by Amelia,the paper reveals the social status and role of women in the patriarchy society. |
