| 摘 要： | 英国学者纽马克（PeterNewmark）于1976年在《APProachestoTranslation》一书中提及overtranslation和undertranslation。然而，纽马克对造成超额翻译与欠额翻译的原因并未作祥细论述。本文对造成超额翻译与欠额翻译的原因作了较为祥细的论述。作者认为，其主要原因有三：文化内涵不同；民族色彩各异；语言结构的差别。

| Abstract: | Overtranslation and undertranslation were advanced in 1976 by Peter Newmark in his book"Approaches to translation". However he failed to make a thorough analysis of the causes leading to overtranslation & undertranslation which have been made in this paper. The author believes that the majorcauses leading to overtranslation & undertranslation can be classified as follows: (l )different cultural connotation. (2)various national traits. (3)difference in syntax. |
