| 摘 要： | 英国著名作家托马斯.哈代在其小说《德伯家的苔丝》中指出:女主人公苔丝是一个纯洁的女人。人们对此争论不休。文章试图通过对男女主人公性格特征以及社会背景的分析,说明苔丝的纯洁,并分析苔丝出淤泥而不染,出淤泥而弥洁的本质。

| Abstract: | English writer Thomas Hardy ever remarked that the heroine,Tess,is a pure woman,which caused some quarrels about the purity.By analyzing the characteristics of the main characters and the background,this article points out that though Tess is seduced,abandoned,and finally driven to murder for which she is hanged,she remains her most lovable woman character,and she is a pure woman. |
