| 摘 要： | 戈尔丁《通过仪式》是一部日志体小说，记述了主人公从英国乘船前往澳大利亚的航行见闻。这艘航船实际上是英国乃至西方文明社会的缩影。船上的特殊环境和情景使不同乘客内心的邪恶充分地暴露出来。戏剧情景是这部小说的鲜明特色，也是贯穿这部小说的主线，起到了塑造人物、深化主题的作用。

| Abstract: | William Golding's Rites of Passage,a novel in the form of journals,records the hero's experiences on the voyage frorn England to Australia.The ship is actually a miniature of England or even the western civilized society.The special setting and situation on the ship make the evil inside the various passengers fully displayed.The theatricals are the striking feature of this novel,and also the main line running through it.They function as portrayal of the characters and intensification of the theme. |
