| Abstract: | Examination and quality education are not contradictory with each other. Since TEM 4/8 aims to test the English knowledge components and the communicative use of the language that students are required to have in the national unified teaching syllabus, it is facilitative in enhancing the students' linguistic competence and communicative competence, which are the quality elements for the English leamers. What we should be warned against is test -oriented practices at the risk of routine teachings. |
