Abstract:The Metro Early College High School is the first Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics-based high school program in Columbus, Ohio, and was developed in partnership with The Ohio State University and other major institutions. One feature of Metro Early College High School was that it would not provide a library on site, but rather would use the collections and services of The Ohio State University library system. This article examines the resources and services that have helped the school and discusses various approaches to improve off-campus online library access and research instruction. A student survey and in-person teacher interviews were conducted to address access issues and to consider new approaches to research instruction.
