摘 要: | Brad Dalton is the first to admit his theory is far-fetched: that bacteria could account for odd light emissions, as well as the reddish hue, of Jupiter's ocean-bearing moon, Europa. But that doesn't mean it's not possible, says the Ames Research Center planetary geologist, who used data collected from the Galileo spacecraft to develop his controversial proposal. Dalton, who is preparing to present his findings at the Houston-based Lunar and Planetary Institute's conference in March, is quick to point out that he is not claiming to have found evidence of life.
