| Abstract: | Strategic planning is frequently dismissed by employees because it does not seem to result in any real change or impact in the library. The failure of strategic planning processes can be attributed to a lack of shared leadership. Shared leadership encourages the development of strategic thinking, problem solving, dialogue, and shared vision, all of which are required for a successful strategic planning process. This article discusses the development of shared leadership and its impact on planning. |
