| Abstract: | The history of service-learning in American higher education is a rarely researched field which requires further attention.An inquiry into this process would grant us better understanding of its theoretical underpinnings,social and educational significance,as well as insights on its trend of development.The history of service-learning could be divided into four periods,namely,the incubation period,the forming period,extra-curriculum complement,and curriculum integration. |
