摘    要:一词多义现象在任何一种语言的词汇中都是极为普遍的现象,是词汇语义学研究的核心内容,同时也是词汇习得和教学中的难点。但多义词的词义扩展并非是任意、毫无规律的,而是有其内在规律和理据可循的。文章从认知语言学角度,运用原型理论,以英语形容词"high"为例来分析多义词的各个义项之间的关联模式和内在联系,探索其词义扩展的理据及内在规律,从而有利于语言学习者更好地理解多义词在不同的具体语境中的具体含义。

Abstract:Polysemy,a common phenomenon in human languages,is the core target in the study of lexical semantics,as well as the difficult part in teaching and learning vocabularies.However,the extension of word meaning is not irregular or arbitrary;instead there are innate laws to follow.From the perspective of cognitive linguistics,prototype theory is used to analyze the case of "high" to reveal the model of relevance and interaction among its multiple meanings.
