Abstract:Cannibalism applied to translation is in the notion of “translation as transfusion of blood”. The translator takes the nourishment by devouring the original text and inputs the essence of the original culture into the target culture. It intends to study Pound's translation under the guidance of cannibalism. And it reaches the conclusion that his translation is actually an empowering act, transfusing new blood into American poetry by absorbing the virtue of Chinese classical poetry.
Keywords:Ezra Pound  cannibalism  translation  transfusion
