BGP路由摆动抑制机制与路径探索

摘    要:路由摆动抑制是普遍用于网络路由协议的一种机制。其目的在于通过暂时抑制那些短期内发生快速变化的路由,而限制不稳定路由的全局影响。普遍认为这一抑制机制有助于Internet全局路由的稳定性,但研究表明BGP的路径探索可能错误地引发抑制,甚至仅仅一次路由摆动都可能导致路由收敛时间的大大增加。

Abstract:Route Flap Damping is a mechanism generally used in network routing protocols. Its goal is to limit the global impact of unstable routes by temporarily suppressing routes with rapid changes over short time periods. Although it is believed that this damping mechanism contributes to the stability of global internet routing, previous work has shown that damping can be falsely triggered by BGP's path exploration and significantly extends the routing convergence time after even single route flap.
