| Abstract: | In the civil trial, the principle of good faith plays a very important role for the judge to verdict with fairness and justness. This is mainly because, in individual cases, legislators did not foresee cases when the legislation appeared to lack of rules or blurred, which requires use of the principle of good faith to supplement legal loopholes and make ap- propriate decisions and adapt laws and judges to social developments. But on the other hand, if the application of the principle of honesty and credit has no standards or limits, it will certainly lead to the abuse of the principle and do harm to the law authority and the judicial system＇ s stability. Accordingly, the paper discussed the application principle of hon- esty and credit in civil trials, as well as boundaries of the judge＇s discretion granted by the principle. |
