论生成语法与系统功能语法的互补

摘    要:生成语法和系统功能语法在处理语言问题上有着各自的不足,这使得它们之间的互补成为必须.同时,两种理论都从语言形式入手研究语言,并通过不同的技术手段分别解决语言的形式与意义的问题,这就使得两种理论有了互补的基础.在否定词的否定范围这一问题上,传统语法的描述和解释存在着严重的局限性.对于这一课题,生成语法的技术手段可以做出深入的句法解释,而系统功能语法的技术手段则可以做出意义选择.生成语法与系统功能语法的互补能够解决传统语法无法解决的众多语言问题,对语言研究和语言教学实践有着重大的意义.

Abstract:Both Systemic-Functional Grammar and Transformational Grammar have their limits in dealing with language phenomena,thus it is crucial to have them complementary to each other.As both of these two schools study language from the perspective of language forms for the language structure and meaning respectively,there is theoretical basis for this complementation.The conventional grammar is inefficient in describing and elucidating the scope of negation.Systemic-Functional Grammar and Transformational Grammar cater respectively for explication to this problem from the perspectives of semantics and syntax.Therefore the explanatory adequacy to language phenomena is realizable only when we seek both Transformational Grammar for syntactic analysis and Systemic-Functional Grammar for semantic analysis.The complementation between Systemic-Functional Grammar and Transformational Grammar may help to unfold many problems that traditional grammar is incompetent to deal with,thus this complementation may contribute to both the theoretical linguistics and the reform of language teaching.
