| 摘 要： | 民信业是新加坡重要的传统行业之一。新加坡民信业从明清到上世纪中叶伴随着华人在南洋的奋斗历程而经历了兴起、发展、繁荣、衰落的过程，这其中有时代的原因，也有各个信局自身的原因。尽管新加坡民信业最终被现代金融业所取代，但它在华人历史上书写了重要的篇章。

| Abstract: | The remittance business is one of the important traditional trades in Singapore. It went through the four periods of rise, development, thriving and decline from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the middle of 1900s, concurrent with the struggle of Chinese in Southeast Asia. Its decline can be attributed partly to the change of time and partly to its inherent problems. Though it was replaced by modem finance, the remittance industry wrote an important chapter in the history of overseas Chinese. |
