| Abstract: | Cao Yuanbi and Duan Xizhong are modern scholars of Confucian Classics. There is a letter from Cao Yuanbi to Duan Xizhong in the collections, of Fudan University Library. In the letter Mr. Cao discussed three issues concerning the study of The Book of Rituals, such the ancient system of rooming, the collation of The Book of Rituals, the compiling regulation of Confucian classics, etc. This paper offers a proofread edition of this letter, and then makes some textual studies on the issues involved in it. It also discusses the date of this letter, and the similarity and differences in academic ideas of these two scholars. |
