The reason and motives for firms to participate in cooperative Innovation |

| Abstract: | The characteristics of current technology development have made cooperative innovation an inevitable trend. In this paper, resource and competence theory, transaction cost theory and the theory of industrial organization are used to explain, from different point of view, the reason of cooperative innovation and the rationality of its existence. The motives for firms to participate in cooperative innovation are concluded into three aspects, which are the motives related to R&D, the motives related to technology learning and acquiring, and the motives related to market entry. |
