| 摘 要： | 19世纪20年代至40年代初,是威廉.E.格拉斯顿的思想形成时期与政治生涯中的学徒时期,而此时的英国正经历着变革前的纷扰与变革进行中的激荡;置身于新旧交替时代的格拉斯顿,其政治观尤其是他的自由观,既体现出浓厚的保守主义倾向,带有明显的非自由主义甚或反自由主义色彩,却又无法完全摆脱自由主义时代精神的影响,从而不可避免地烙上清晰的时代印记。与此同时,对真理和社会正义的执着追求,则成为矫治其非自由主义观念的良药。

| Abstract: | From the 1820s to early the 1840s,William Ewart Gladstone was in his formative period and in his political apprenticeship,while in this time,Britain was on the eve of reform and was undergoing a period of reform.Staying in this rapidly changing age,Gladstone's early political views,especially his view of freedom,not only tended to be strongly conservative and was then illiberal or even anti-liberal,but also unable to avoid being influenced by the spirit of the time of liberalism.Meanwhile,his firm pursuit of truth and social justice became an antidote to his illiberal ideas. |
