高职高专英语专业学生词汇量问题及对策探究

摘    要:词汇量调查与研究在中国已为许多专家、教师所重视,为了进一步了解高职高专英语专业学生的英语词汇能力,为语言教师词汇教学提供一定的实践依据,我们对泸州职业技术学院英语专业学生的英语词汇量进行了测试和调查。调查发现,该英语专业学生掌握的词汇量水平较低,而词汇量及词汇运用能力与综合语言能力有较大的相关性,因此,高职高专英语专业课教学应该重视词汇教学,探索高效的词汇教学方法。

Abstract:In China, some experts and teachers attach great importance to the investigation and research on English vocabulary size. To get a further understanding of the vocational English majors' vocabulary ability and to provide language teachers with practical bases for their vocabulary teaching, we made an investigation on English vocabulary size of English majors in Luzhou Vocational and Technical College. The result shows that these students have a small vocabulary. What's important, the vo cabulary size and the ability to put vocabulary to use are closely related to the comprehensive lan guage ability. Therefore, when teaching English majors in vocational colleges, we should pay much attention to vocabulary teaching and explore highly effective vocabulary teaching methods.
