| Abstract: | In the perspective of transport intensiveness, agglomeration economies and path dependence, this paper introduces and analyzes the theoretical model of port cities' development in the new trade theory, contributing to the construction of Shanghai international metropolis and sustainable economic development of hub city and its hinterland, which has also been reinforced by its brief assessment of the rapid development of Shanghai city in the past centuries. |
