摘    要:通识教育起源于古希腊罗马的博雅教育,在耶鲁大学被继承和发扬光大,由蔡元培先生在改革旧北大期间引入中国高等教育系统。本科通识教育作为世界一流大学普遍践行的最先进的教育理论,在课程体系和拔尖创新人才培养方面有其独特的历史和内涵。分析国外一流大学本科通识教育的有益经验和我国有关高校的探索性做法,可以为我国创建世界一流大学、培育拔尖创新人才提供参考和借鉴。

Abstract:General education is originated from liberal education of ancient Greek and Roman and it is inherited and carried forward by Yale University. Mr.Cai Yuanpei introduces it to China' s higher education system when he reforms old Peking University. As the most advanced educational theory practiced by world class universities, general education for undergraduates has its own special history and connotation on cur- riculum system as well as training outstanding innovative talents. Useful experiences of general education practiced by world class universities and exploratory practice of some China's universities can supply ref- erence for China to establish world class universities and to train outstanding innovative talents.
