汉语成语的形象与喻义及其翻译策略

摘    要:汉语成语作为从汉语中提炼出来的语言成分,是汉语的修辞手段和文化积淀的集中体现。成语一般具有形象和喻义的双重内涵,在翻译过程中应该遵循两大基本原则:当要求在形象和喻义之间做出选择时,成语翻译应重其喻义;在条件允许的前提下,应尽量保全其形象和喻义。惟此,才能在翻译中准确地传达汉语成语的真正含义。

Abstract:As a language component extracted from Chinese,Chinese idioms are concentrated expressions of rhetoric means of Chinese and cultural accumulation.Generally speaking,Chinese idioms have double meanings: image meaning and connotation meaning.We should follow two basic principles in the process of translation.On the one hand,we choose connotation meaning if we have to make a choice between image meaning and connotation meaning of Chinese idioms.On the other hand,we should try our best to preserve its image meaning and connotation meaning as long as condition is permitting.Only in this way,can we convey the real meaning of Chinese idioms in the process of translation.
