| 摘 要： | 本文跟据英语动词词汇意义所暗含的体态特征，将英语动词分为终结动词、完成动词、活动动词、持续动词四类。从四类动词与进行体连用的情况出发，探讨了英语动词进行体的意义及实质：英语动词进行体表示暗含始终，而又不计始终的展现变化的持续过程，其实质是过程性。

| Abstract: | English verbs can be divided into four groups: achievement verb, accomplishment verb, activity verb and state verb. According to the aspect characteristics contained in English verbs. This article probes into the meaning and essence of progressive aspect. Progressive aspect is to express a durative process consisting of dynamic changes implying end points but excluding them. |
