| 摘 要： | 国民素质是社会经济发展的制约性因素 ,地理科学素质是现代国民素质的重要组成部分 ,对实现社会持续发展具有重要意义。基础教育的发展在一定程度上决定着国民整体素质的水平。在基础教育中 ,地理学科具有不可取代的特殊功能。忽视地理教育的后果是严重的 ,应该摒弃应试教育传统观念 ,重新认识地理学科在基础教育中的地位 ,并全面彻底改革高师地理专业教育 ,促进地理学科教育的发展 ,充分发挥其在塑造高质量的国民整体素质中的作用

| Abstract: | National Citizen's quality is the restrictive factor for the development of social economy. Geography science quality is main component of modern national citizen's quality and plays an important role on continuous society development. The development of fundamental education determines the level of the quality of national citizen and in some extent its role in training high quality national citizens. |
