| 摘 要： | 《孟子》作为"四书五经"之一,具有很高的文学价值。近代著名的汉学家理雅各成功将《孟子》译成英文,对此英译本的研究对文言翻译有着重大意义。《孟子》中的虚词数不胜数,用法也五花八门,"焉"是文言文中常见的虚词,对其翻译存在一定的技巧性,需归纳、总结之后方能翻译准确。本文从《孟子》中的虚词"焉"入手研究,选取了理雅各的译本,揭示了该字的翻译特点、策略和方法。
