THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF ALUMINA FIBER-REINFORCED ALUMINIUM ALLOY MATRIX COMPOSITE

摘    要:The morphology of the microstructure of Al-alloy composite with variousfiber contents was examined under optical microscope.The fracture of tension specimenwas studied under scanning electron microscope(SEM).The mechanical properties,wearresistance and coefficient of thermal linear expansion of the composite were measured.Theexperiment shows that the composite studied is suitable for engine pistons due to its goodwear resistance,higher elevated temperature mechanical properties and lower coefficient ofthermal linear expansion.
