| Abstract: | This paper analyzes the cognitive process of reading comprehension on the basis of Relevance Theory and points out that the Relevance Theory can elucidate the cognitive process of reading comprehension. Through some examples the paper reveals that the ability of reading comprehension of students can be improved by the application of the Relevance Theory. |
